Chief Designers’ Council for Naval Mechanical and Instrument Engineering was held at Krylov State Research Centre

On December 14, 2015 Aleksandr Potapov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Chairman of Chief Designers’ Council for Naval Mechanical and Instrument Engineering, led the first meeting of the Council at the Krylov Centre. Among other issues the members of the Council reviewed the organization chart and appointed the participants of working groups — «Marine engineering» and «Instrument engineering».

Arctic: Today And The Future

On the opening day of the 5th International Forum «Arctic: Today And The Future» the exhibition stand of the Krylov State Research Centre was visited by the Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Government Dmitry Ragozin. Among the exhibits showcased by KSRC Dmitry Rogozin was particularly interested in a model of the advanced 120 MW nuclear icebreaker «Lider» (project 10510) designed by Krylov’s Arctic Engineering Centre jointly with the Central Design Bureau Iceberg.

Krylov State Research Centre completed offshore transportation system modelling for oil offloading from Yamal

By the order of «Gazprom Neft Novy Port» LLC, KSRC specialists have developed the computer simulation model of offshore oil offloading system for Novoportovskoye oil and gas condensate field located in Yamal peninsula in harsh environment of polar region. The most of the year the ships are operating in 500m ice channel in shorefast ice of Ob’ Bay over 2 m in thickness. Some months a year the open water area of Kara Sea is almost completely covered with drifting ice.

Krylov State Research Center has been appointed as the central scientific organization in marine engineering

Krylov State Research Center has been appointed as the central scientific organization in marine engineering and will serve as a base for the newly established Chief Designers’ Council for Naval Mechanical and Instrument Engineering. Krylov State Research Center together with the Chief Engineers’ Council is aimed at maintaining a unified scientific and technological policy in the field, as well as providing standardization and unification for marine engineering products.
