27 December 2016, Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Yard launched Sergei Balk (Project 234700) to lead a series of sea-going tugs. This milestone event was witnessed by designers of CDB Baltsudoproekt.

The Krylov State Research Centre, the leader in development and design of vessels and marine facilities of the Arctic class, presented its new projects at VI International forum «Arctic: today and the future» that was held on December 5–7 at ExpoForum convention and exhibition centre, St. Petersburg.

On November 18, the Krylov State Research Centre hosted the first Forum of St. Petersburg young specialists. The event was held in the furtherance of youth policy of the city aimed at establishment of legal, informative and organizational environment for personal self-fulfilment and development of youth associations and initiatives at the enterprises of St. Petersburg.

The 35-th jubilee session of ISO/TC 8 on shipping and maritime technology was held in Beijing from 26 to 30 September. It was the first plenary presided by Yanqing Li from China who had been elected the TC8 chairman a year ago at the St. Petersburg forum.

The Krylov State Research Centre took an active part in Marintec Russia Exhibition and Conference (dealing with the topics of shipbuilding and offshore infrastructure) hosted by the St. Petersburg ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre during 4 to 7 October 2016.

The 11-th International Exhibition and Scientific Conference on Hydroaviation Gidroaviasalon-2016 took place from September 22 to September 25, 2016 in Gelendzhik.

Early fall has seen multiple significant events in shipbuilding including International Military-Technical Forum «ARMY-2016» and the world’s leading international maritime trade fair SMM 2016, attracting representatives of shipping companies, design bureaus, developers and manufacturers of marine equipment and technologies, officials, bankers and politicians to Hamburg.

The second International specialized exhibition «Import Substitution» aimed to demonstrate the development potential of Russian enterprises and organizations in manufacturing competitive import-substituting products and services was held from 13 to 15 September 2016 in Crocus Expo IEC in accordance with Executive Order of the Russian Federation Government. In the course of round table «Import substitution in commercial shipbuilding.

On September 3 the Krylov Centre took part in the Plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2016), where the Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined the main vectors of the Far East development.

Another large hydrographic boat of Project 19920 was launched at the Rybinsk Shipyard «Vympel». It is the fifth boat (Project 19920) for which TSNII SET provides a set of shipboard electrical equipment and control system.
