On 31 March 2015 the Deputy Minister of Industry & Trade of the Russian Federation Andrei Dutov officially introduced Vladimir Nikitin as Director General to the staff of the Krylov State Research Centre. Vladimir Nikitin was appointed Director General of the Krylov State Research Centre since 31 March by the Minister’s Order after winning the competition for the position as declared on 26 March.

Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor Vladimir Semenovich Nikitin is well known in the shipbuilding industry. For a long time he was in charge of JSC Ship Repair Centre «Zvezdochka» and Research and Development Technological Bureau «Onega» based in Severodvinsk. The subjects of V. Nikitin’s PhD and Doctoral dissertations have addressed scientific, engineering and technological challenges in construction, repair and decommissioning of nuclear marine platforms.
