The 10-th jubilee international conference «Russian Shelf» was held in Moscow between March 3 and 4, 2015. The key subjects of the discussion triggered by the representatives of the Krylov State Research Centre included search for integrated solutions aimed to optimize the marine transportation system for LNG export as well as the project of Arctic drillship for extended period of drilling in Arctic.
The conceptual design of Arctic drillship was elaborated under the Federal Target Program «Development of civil marine technologies for 2009–2016».
The vessel is intended to be of a high ice class with high-capacity power plants, high level of winterization, fine habitability and provided with emergency evacuation means for the crew. The drillship is designed with the dual ship positioning system (DP and anchor mooring) to achieve maximum endurance at the drilling site and to guarantee the high quality of drilling.
