Three major chairs staged by the Krylov Centre in cooperation with the St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University (SMTU) hosted the solemn opening of the new academic year on September 3, 2014. The major chairs are intended for improvement of educational quality through application of R&D results, enhancement of research content in curriculum, involvement of students into the research activities under the guidance of the Krylov Centre experts. The ceremonial meeting was honored by v. N. Polyakov, Acting Director General of the Krylov Centre, v. G. Khoroshev, Science Principal of the Krylov Centre, Head of major chair, v. M. Shaposhnikov, Head of Krylov Centre division, E. M. Appolonov, SMTU Acting Rector, v. N. Tryaskin, SMTU Academic Vice-rector.
