On the threshold of Russia Day, KSRC was visited by Rosatom and Atomflot delegations represented by Mr. I. Kamenskih, First Deputy Director General — Head of Nuclear Weaponry Directorate (Rosatom), Mr. M. Kashka (First Deputy Director General — Chief Engineer (Atomflot), K. Knyazevsky (Deputy Director General on Fleet Construction — Head of St. Petersburg Office (Atomflot), Mr. S. Osipov (Deputy Director of Development and Testing Department for Nuclear Ordnance and Military Power Plants) and Mr. D. Taleykin (Advisor, Development and Testing Department for Nuclear Ordnance and Military Power Plants).
The purpose of this visit was to familiarize our guests with KSRC capabilities in ice testing of advanced icebreakers and ice-going ships, simulation of marine operations in ice conditions at the simulators of our Training & Simulation Complex, as well as to familiarize Rosatom and Atomflot representatives with the capabilities of TSNII SET branch of KSRC in development of electric propulsion systems and electric equipment. Also, a number of issues were discussed, regarding cooperation between Rosatom and KSRC in planning and implementation of development activities in support of main drive design for Lider icebreaker.
