Krylov’s booth at Оffshore Marintec Russia visited by Arkady Dvorkovich

On 10 October 2014 the stand of the Krylov State Research Centre Offshore Marintec Russia, an international exhibition dedicated to shipbuilding and high-tech equipment for Arctic and Continental Shelf, was visited by Vice Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich. Director General of the Krylov State Research Centre Anatoliy Aleksashin presented to the visiting dignitary some projects of high-tech ships and innovation technologies designed to meet major requirements and trends in oil & gas sector.

The Vice Minister’s attention was attracted by the following projects:

  • shallow- draft icebreaker of new generation whose technical design is expected to be soon accepted by the Customer;
  • pipe laying ship able to install coated pipes at sea in open water and broken ice fields with ice thickness up to 0.5m;
  • fuel cell battery using hydrogen fuel converted from LNG and atmospheric air as oxidizer;
  • sandwich GRP panel of ingenious design for hulls of new-generation high-speed vessels.

The Vice Prime Minister showed keen interest to the presented projects and requested further information on some of them.
