The fixed land-based magnetic test

The fixed land-based magnetic test

The fixed land-based magnetic test facility of the Krylov Centre is a unique experimental tool for research studies on ship magnetism and magnetic signature management:

  • Sumulation of latidudinal zones up to ±6•10–5 T (vertical component) and up to ±4•10–5 T (horizontal component);
  • Dimensions of uniform measurement zone 2×2×2 m with error less than 1 %;
  • Fields: static (up to 10–3 T), alternating (up to (4•10–3 T).

The static electric field in marine environment is simulated in an electrolytic test tank made of dielectric material measuring 2.7×1×1 м;

Ship electric signature simulation test rig

Ship electric signature simulation test rig

is designed for studying electric models simulating the electric field in sea water and electric signature management systems.

Stratified test tank

Stratified test tank

is used to study the processes in the media of non-uniform density and interaction of objects with stratified sea medium.

Test tank dimensions: 6×2×2 m;
Temperature gradient: from 0 to 1°C/cm;
Salinity gradient: from 0 to 10 ‰/cm.

Optical simulation test rig is used to determine the laser detection features: overall luminance coefficient and laser cross-section of ships and other marine platforms.

Wavelengths:
For the measurements of laser detection features: 0.63; 1.15 μm, etc.;
For the measurements of material reflection factors: 0.2 – 1.2 μm and 3.5 – 14 μm.
